Among Us

Innersloth · Innersloth

Among Us is Innersloth's social deduction game, first released in 2018, which exploded in popularity in 2020. A group of players work on a spaceship, a base or an airship. Most are Crewmates trying to complete tasks; one or more are secretly Impostors trying to eliminate everyone without being caught. Whenever a body is found or someone calls an emergency meeting, everyone discusses and votes on who they think the Impostor is. Lying, accusing, defending: it is a party game more than a video game, and it is best when the players know each other. Among Us supports four to fifteen players in one lobby, so it is a great fit for big groups at a cafe. Players can sit on separate stations and join the same lobby. Since everyone is in the same room, you can talk out loud during meetings, which makes it even more fun. Just agree not to talk during the actual rounds! Setup Any PC, console or phone. On PC and PS5, it works with controllers or mouse, and cross-play lets friends on different devices join. It runs on very modest hardware. Tips for crewmates Stick with a buddy, but not too closely, in case they are the Impostor. Remember who you saw and where. Watch for people who fake tasks without the task bar moving. And use cameras and admin maps to keep track of others. Tips for Impostors Pretend to do tasks near others. Use vents carefully, as they can give you away. Sabotage to split the group up. And during meetings, stay calm; accusing someone too quickly can draw attention. Time A round takes around 10 to 15 minutes. An hour gives a group several rounds. With a big group, two hours of Among Us is a great party. Who should play Birthday groups, college friends, families and any group of six or more. It is rated E10+, and it is perfect for groups who are less into traditional video games.
