Black Myth: Wukong is a 2024 action RPG by Game Science, a studio based in China. It is inspired by the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, and you play as the Destined One, a monkey warrior following in the footsteps of Sun Wukong, the legendary Monkey King. The game is built around boss fights, and there are many of them: dozens of creatures, gods and demons from Chinese mythology. Combat focuses on a staff with three stances: smash, pillar and thrust. You can also cast spells, transform into other creatures, and use the Immobilize spell to freeze enemies in place for a moment. Visually, Black Myth: Wukong is stunning. Built in Unreal Engine 5, its temples, forests and mountains look incredible, especially on a powerful PC or PS5. It was a huge success when it launched in 2024, becoming one of the most-played single-player games on Steam. Why book it at a cafe It is single-player, but its frequent boss fights make it a great game to play in turns with friends. It is also a good choice for testing the graphics of a high-end cafe PC.
