NBA 2K24

Visual Concepts · 2K Games

NBA 2K24 is Visual Concepts' 2023 basketball game, published by 2K, and it was built to celebrate Kobe Bryant, who features on the cover. Its standout single-player mode, Mamba Moments, lets you recreate some of Kobe's most famous games. Beyond that, 2K24 has the familiar set of modes. MyCAREER follows a player you create from rookie to star, with The City acting as a shared online hub on current-generation consoles. MyTEAM is the card-collecting mode. MyNBA lets you manage a franchise across seasons, and on newer consoles you can start from different eras of the league. 2K24 also added cross-play between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Why it is good at a cafe The simplest option is Play Now: pick two teams and play a game against your friend on one screen. Basketball games are quick to understand, and 2K's presentation, with commentary and broadcast-style replays, makes every match feel like a TV game. With four players, you can play two-on-two on the same team, which is fun and chaotic. Setup PS5 or PC with controllers. On PS5, the DualSense adds nice touches with its triggers. You do not need an account for local play. Beginner tips Stick to simple plays: pass the ball around until someone is open, rather than trying to dribble past everyone. Use the shot meter to time your release; practise free throws to learn it. On defence, hold the defensive stance button and stay between your player and the basket. And pick a team with a star player you know, which makes the game easier and more fun. Session length A full game with default quarter lengths takes around 20 to 30 minutes. With shorter quarters, a group can play several games in an hour. Who will like it Basketball fans, Kobe fans, and anyone who wants a quick head-to-head sports game with high production values. It is rated E.
