NBA 2K25 is the 2024 edition of the basketball series by Visual Concepts and 2K. It builds on ProPLAY, the technology that turns real NBA footage into in-game animations, so dribbling, shooting and defending look closer than ever to an actual broadcast. At a cafe, the quickest way in is Play Now with a friend. Pick two teams, set quarter lengths to something short, and play. It is easy to understand even if you only watch the NBA occasionally. For a group of four, two-versus-two on one console works well. Players who own the game might want to log in to MyCAREER, where you create a player and build their career, or to The City, the online hub where your custom player plays pickup games against others. MyTEAM, the card-collecting mode, and MyNBA, the franchise management mode, are also available but suit longer sessions at home. Check with the cafe whether they allow personal account logins on shared consoles. Setup to ask for PS5 is the most common choice, with two to four controllers. PC is also available. You need nothing special beyond that for local play. Tips for newcomers Learn the pass-and-move basics: one or two passes usually create a better shot than a long dribble. Use the shot meter by practising a few free throws to get the timing. Do not reach for steals constantly, because fouling gives your opponent free shots. And try pick-and-roll plays: set a screen with a big man and either drive to the basket or pass. Typical session time A game with five-minute quarters takes around 20 minutes. One hour gives a pair a few games. Groups playing a mini-tournament should plan two hours.
