Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

Raven Software · Activision Blizzard

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III arrived in November 2023 as a direct sequel to Modern Warfare II, continuing the story of Captain Price and Task Force 141 against Vladimir Makarov. The campaign is short; what has kept people playing is the multiplayer and the Zombies mode. Q: What is special about its multiplayer? At launch, MW3 brought back all 16 original maps from 2009's Modern Warfare 2, remastered, including fan favourites like Rust, Terminal and Highrise. If you have nostalgia for that era, it is a treat. Movement is faster than in the previous game, with slide cancelling returning. Q: Is Zombies like the old round-based mode? No. MW3 Zombies is an open-world, extraction-style mode on a large map. Squads of up to three drop in, complete contracts, fight through stronger zones and try to extract with loot. It is cooperative and relaxed in the early zones, but the high-threat areas get tough quickly. Q: PC or PS5 at the cafe? Both are fine. PC with a high refresh monitor gives sharper aim and more control. PS5 with a pad is easier to pick up. The game requires an account, and the install is huge, so pick a cafe that keeps it ready. Q: Any beginner tips? Play small maps like Shipment or Rust with friends for fun but expect chaos. To actually learn, use larger 6v6 maps in Team Deathmatch and stick with one weapon until you know its recoil. Turn on the footstep-friendly audio preset and wear a headset; hearing enemies is half the game. In Zombies, stay together as a squad and do not wander into the red zone until everyone has upgraded weapons and armour. Q: How long should I book? Multiplayer matches take around ten minutes. An hour gives you a good run of games. A Zombies session usually lasts 45 to 60 minutes per deployment, so two hours suits a squad. Q: Who is it for? Players who loved the classic Modern Warfare era, groups who want a fast shooter with familiar maps, and anyone curious about open-world Zombies. It is rated M, so it is for adults and older teens.
