EA SPORTS FC 24

EA SPORTS FC 24 holds a special place in football gaming: it was the first game EA released under the FC name after its long partnership with FIFA ended. Developed by EA Vancouver, it kept the core of the old series and added PlayStyles, special traits that make star players feel different on the ball. Is it still worth playing? For a casual session with friends, yes. Squads are older, but the gameplay is responsive, and some regulars genuinely prefer its pace to the newer editions. Some cafes keep it installed alongside newer FC titles, so it is a handy fallback when the latest game is booked out. Modes that suit a cafe visit Kick-Off is the obvious one: two players, one screen, any clubs you like. Tournament mode lets you set up a small bracket in-game, which is neat for a group of four to eight sharing a station. Volta, the street football mode, is a good change of pace when your group gets tired of full matches. It is short-sided, skill-heavy and forgiving for beginners. Recommended setup PS5 with controllers. FC 24 is also on PC, but it is really a controller game. If you want to play a proper bracket, two neighbouring stations save a lot of waiting around. Tips for first-timers Pick a strong club with quick wingers; pace is very forgiving in FC 24. Look for the players with PlayStyle icons on their cards, because those traits make finesse shots and passes noticeably better. And when defending a corner, switch to the player nearest the near post instead of leaving the AI to handle it. How long a session takes A standard match is about 15 minutes. Two friends can play three or four games in an hour. A four-person in-game tournament usually needs about two hours to finish without rushing. Bottom line FC 24 is a dependable football game for friendly matches. If the cafe you visit has a newer FC on a free console, take that for updated rosters, but do not hesitate to play FC 24 if it is what is free.
