Forza Horizon 5

Playground Games · Xbox Game Studios

Forza Horizon 5 is Playground Games' 2021 open-world racer set in a stylised version of Mexico. You drive across jungles, deserts, beaches, towns and even a volcano as part of the Horizon Festival, a racing and car-culture celebration where everything you do earns progress. If Gran Turismo is a precise simulator, Forza Horizon is the joyful road trip. You can enter street races, cross-country rallies, drag races, drift zones and huge set-piece Showcase events, or simply drive in any direction and see what you find. Hundreds of cars, from family hatchbacks to off-road trucks, are all available to collect and tune. Playing with friends Online, you can drive together in a convoy, join Horizon Arcade events (quick shared challenges that appear on the map), and try The Eliminator, a battle royale of sorts where drivers collide head-to-head until one is left. At a cafe, the best setup is two or more neighbouring stations, each player on their own screen, joining the same convoy. Setup Forza Horizon 5 runs on Xbox and PC, and it plays nicely with a controller. It also supports racing wheels, and on a rig it feels great, though it is more forgiving than hardcore sims. A PC with a large monitor and a pad is the most common cafe experience. You need a Microsoft account to play online. Advice for beginners Use the rewind button freely; there is no shame in it. Start with the "assists on" difficulty settings and turn them down as you improve. Try different event types early to find what you enjoy. And spend a few minutes in the car collection exploring cars you would never drive in real life. Time Most events take two to five minutes. A relaxed first session of an hour is plenty to explore and race. Groups doing convoy events might stay two hours. Who will love it Anyone who likes cars, people who want a less stressful racing game, and players who simply enjoy driving around a gorgeous world. It is rated E, so it suits younger players and family groups too.
