13 gifts gamers actually want this Christmas and New Year (plus one you can't wrap)
By Aamir Khan ·

Christmas and New Year gift ideas for PS5, Xbox, PC and mobile gamers, grouped by budget, plus why a gaming café session might be the best gift.
Buying a gift for a gamer is easy to get wrong. Pick the wrong console's controller, or a "gaming" gadget nobody uses, and it ends up in a drawer. This list sticks to useful things gamers actually ask for, grouped by budget, plus one gift you can't buy on Amazon.
Products were checked on Amazon.in on 3 November 2026. Prices and stock change quickly in the holiday season, so check the latest price and delivery date before you order. Specs come from each product's own listing.
Before you buy: 3 questions
- What do they play on? PS5, Xbox, PC or phone. Controllers and some headsets only work on certain platforms.
- Do they already have it? A second controller is always welcome. A third keyboard isn't.
- Will it arrive in time? Check the delivery date on the product page, especially for Christmas.
Stocking fillers (under ₹1,500)
- Vero Forza Glide PRO finger sleeves for the BGMI or COD Mobile player. Six pieces (3 pairs) that help thumbs glide on the screen.
- Ant Esports MP290 large mouse pad for any PC gamer. It has stitched edges and a non-slip base. Nobody ever has a good enough mouse pad.
- Ant Esports RGB headset stand that also holds a controller and has 2 USB charging ports, according to its listing. It tidies up a messy desk.
- Logitech G102 gaming mouse is a safe, well-reviewed first gaming mouse with RGB lighting and 6 programmable buttons.

Solid gifts (₹1,500 to ₹5,000)

Big gifts (₹5,000 and up)
- Sony DualSense controller (Grey Camo) for a PS5 owner. A second controller means they can play with a friend. Check they don't already have one in this colour!
- Xbox Wireless Controller (Robot White) works with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PCs, so it's also great for PC gamers who prefer a controller.
- Logitech G29 racing wheel is the "wow" gift for a racing fan with a PS5, PS4 or PC. It has force feedback and floor pedals. Check they have desk space and the right console, and see our guide to sim racing in Mumbai if they want to try a rig first.
The gift you can't buy on Amazon: a session at a gaming café
For a lot of people, the best gift is an experience. Book a few hours at a gaming café for them and their friends: PS5, PC, VR or a racing rig. It's especially good for New Year's Eve plans or a birthday.

What to skip
- Unbranded "gaming" bundles of mouse, keyboard, headset and pad in one box. They're usually the weakest version of each.
- Game gift cards from unknown resellers. If you're giving PlayStation, Xbox or Steam credit, buy it from the official store or an authorised seller.
- Anything for the wrong platform. A PS5 controller won't help an Xbox owner.
