Sim racing in Mumbai: where to find a proper racing rig

Where to try sim racing in Mumbai, from 6DOF motion rigs and F1 simulators to gaming cafés with a wheel and pedals, with prices and first-timer tips.

There's driving a car in GTA with a controller, and then there's sitting in a bucket seat with a wheel fighting back in your hands as you brake for the hairpin. If you've only ever done the first, a proper sim racing rig is a bit of a revelation.

Good news: you don't need to spend lakhs on your own setup to try it. Mumbai now has dedicated sim racing venues with motion rigs, and a growing number of gaming cafés keep a wheel-and-pedal setup in the corner. This guide covers both, with what each place publishes about its rigs and prices.

Details were checked on 31 October 2026. Prices and offers change often, especially at the session-based venues, so confirm before you book.

First, what counts as a "racing rig"?

Not every "racing setup" is the same. Here's a quick way to understand what you're paying for:

  • Wheel and pedals on a stand. The most common café setup. A steering wheel (often a Logitech G29 or G923) and pedals clamped to a stand or a seat, in front of a TV or monitor. Great for Gran Turismo 7 or Forza.
  • Static cockpit. A proper racing seat, wheel and pedals fixed on one frame, so nothing slides around. It feels much more like a car, but the seat doesn't move.
  • Motion rig (3DOF or 6DOF). The seat moves with the car. "DOF" means "degrees of freedom". A 3DOF rig tilts and pitches; a 6DOF rig also slides and lifts, so you feel bumps, kerbs and braking much more.
  • Direct-drive wheel. A higher-end wheel where the motor drives the wheel shaft directly. Force feedback is stronger and more detailed. Parabolica, for example, says its motion rigs use a Moza R9 direct-drive wheel.

As a rule: wheel-and-pedal setups are priced like a normal café hour. Static cockpits and motion rigs are priced per session or per lap, and cost more.

Dedicated sim racing venues

MetaDrive Arcade (Govandi East)

MetaDrive is a sim racing chain with arcades in Kolkata, Jaipur and Mumbai. The Mumbai arcade is on the 2nd floor of Sanjona Chamber on Govandi Station Road.

  • Rigs: Static sims, 3DOF motion sims and 6DOF motion sims, according to its website.
  • Sessions: 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
  • Price: MetaDrive's website shows several price tables without saying which city each one is for, so ask for the Mumbai rate when you call (+91 90732 05758 is the number it lists for Mumbai).
  • Why go: It's one of the few places in Mumbai where you can try a 6DOF rig.

Parabolica (Andheri West)

Parabolica calls itself a "VR and F1 social gaming studio". It's on New Link Road, opposite Citi Mall.

  • Rigs: F1 static racing and full-motion racing simulators. Its event listing says the motion rigs use a Moza R9 direct-drive steering system.
  • Format: Races are sold by laps, not time: 6-lap sprints, 10-lap dual circuits, 15-lap Grand Prix and 20-lap challenges. Automatic transmission is included; manual costs extra.
  • Price: Its BookMyShow listings show a dual-track F1 experience from ₹999. A Diwali combo of 30 minutes of VR and 15 F1 laps was listed at ₹1,199, from 30 October to 4 November 2026.
  • Why go: The closest thing to an F1 cockpit you'll find in Mumbai without a track day.

Laser & Light (Andheri and Bandra)

Laser & Light is a family entertainment venue with laser tag, VR, arcade games and F1 racing simulators with steering and pedal systems and multiplayer racing. It has branches in Bandra West (opposite China Gate on Waterfield Road) and Andheri (Veera Desai Industrial Estate) and says it's open daily from 12 pm to 9 pm.

Good for mixed groups or birthdays, where not everyone is a racing fan.

Gaming cafés with racing setups

These are cheaper, and you can usually play for a full hour. Most cafés have just one or two rigs, so book or call ahead.

INVADE is the clear value pick: it's the only café we found that publishes a sim racing price on its own website, and it's right opposite Juinagar station. JB Gaming Lounge's Gamehood listing shows Forza Horizon 5, Need for Speed Unbound and The Crew Motor Fest on its rig.

A few more cafés have racing setups mentioned in customer reviews, including Gamers Club near Tolani Naka (Andheri East) and Gaming Hub in Ghansoli. We couldn't confirm these from the cafés themselves.

Which games to play

The game matters as much as the rig. If the café lets you choose, these are worth asking for:

  • Gran Turismo 7 (PS5): The classic choice. Very good wheel support and lots of real cars and tracks.
  • F1 24: If you want the F1 experience on a café rig. Ask which F1 edition they have.
  • Forza Horizon 5: Open-world and forgiving. Great for first-timers and groups taking turns.
  • The Crew Motor Fest and Need for Speed Unbound: Arcade fun rather than simulation.
  • Assetto Corsa Competizione (PC): A serious GT racing sim. Vertigo's Gamehood listing includes it on its PCs.

Tips for your first session

  1. Adjust the seat before you start. You should be able to press the brake fully with a slightly bent knee, and hold the wheel with your elbows bent. Ask staff to help. It's their job.
  2. Turn on assists. Traction control, ABS and a racing line make your first laps fun instead of frustrating. Switch them off once you're consistent.
  3. Brake earlier than you think. Almost everyone overshoots their first corners. Smooth beats fast.
  4. Go easy on motion rigs if you get motion sick. Start with a short session. If you feel queasy, stop. Pushing through makes it worse.
  5. Wear proper shoes. Flip-flops on pedals are miserable. Thin-soled trainers are ideal.
  6. Set up a leaderboard with friends. Same car, same track, best lap wins. It's the cheapest fun you'll have on a rig.

How much should you budget?

  • A café rig for an hour: INVADE publishes ₹150/hour (single player). Other cafés don't publish racing prices, so ask.
  • A motion session at a dedicated venue: Expect to pay several hundred to over a thousand rupees for a short session. Parabolica's BookMyShow listings start at ₹999.

If you're thinking of buying your own wheel instead, an hour at a café is a cheap way to find out whether you'll actually use it. Our PS5 vs pay-per-hour guide walks through the same kind of maths for consoles.
